Folk metal/rock zasedba Valkeat se vrača po šestih letih z novim albumom. Ta bo nosil naslov Fireborn in bo izšel 18. avgusta pri Reaper Entertainment, medtem ko bo band praznoval release show ploščka na festivalu Summer Breeze Open Air. Album Fireborn bo vseboval 14 pesmi:

Organizatorji festivala Download, ki bi se moral zgoditi 23. in 24. junija na Hockenheimringu, je odpovedan. Celotno izjavo organizatorja lahko preberete spodaj:

Das für den 23. und 24. Juni geplante Download Germany am Hockenheimring findet in diesem Jahr nicht statt. Mit Bedauern gab der Veranstalter heute die Absage des Festivals bekannt. Sämtliche bereits im Vorverkauf erworbene Tickets werden in den nächsten Tagen automatisch von Ticketmaster zurückerstattet. Die Fans werden hierzu per E-Mail informiert.

Bis zuletzt habe man versucht, das Festival für die Fans von Download Germany zu realisieren. Die massive Anzahl von Open Air-Veranstaltungen erschwere in diesem Sommer trotz des erstklassigen Line-Ups die Organisation und Durchführung erheblich. Die damit verbundenen produktionstechnischen Hindernisse erwiesen sich leider als unüberwindbar.«

THAT WAS IT! Hello friends, it is with a heavy heart that we are writing these lines. But there is no other way. We really gave and did everything we could to finally catch up with celebrating the big BANG YOU HEAD!!! anniversary in 2023, and eagerly anticipated this summer like no other. But: We alone, unfortunately, did not have control over creating the circumstances needed to set up an event of this caliber with the requirement to quality connected to the name BANG YOUR HEAD!!! and actually make it happen. A lot changed in the past three years and not a lot of it was and is good. All in all, it can and must be said: The whole scene changed, and the preconditions for organizing an open-air event in Balingen are completely different in 2023 than they were in 2019 – also from an economic perspective. All in all, we thus come to the conclusion, even if it is incredibly sad, that there are too many factors and forces working against us, and pushing through to organize an event at any cost would cause more losses for us and others involved than putting an end to it now. And this is how it is now: The BANG YOUR HEAD!!! 2023 can and will NOT take place. Due to the abovementioned reasons which we can’t describe in further detail due to reasons that are hopefully understandable, there is no viable path that we can take responsibility for aside from calling off the big anniversary party in Balingen. We hope for your understanding and thank everybody from the bottom of our hearts that supported us, believed in us, and kept their tickets or even bought new ones. Especially for you we tried everything to finally raise the BANG YOUR HEAD!!! flag again over the Swabian Alb, but it seems like it was not meant to be. And to make sure to avoid any potential misunderstandings: There will be no more BANG YOUR HEAD!!! festivals in the future. This was it. Because we know that many of you waited for the BYH!!! this year with immense anticipation, we intensely tried to come up with a way to marginally make up for the cancellation of the event. So, we had an idea for a ticket exchange to the ROCK OF AGES festival 2023 which you can read up on in the detailed statement on www.bang-your-head.de. Of course, we will also reimburse the purchasing price to everybody who would like to return their tickets – irrespective of which of the past years the tickets for 2023 were purchased. We will inform you about the detailed process shortly through our channels. Avstrijski progresivni death metalci Vinsta predstavljajo najnovejši besedilni video za komad Schwoaze Låckn. Skladbo boste našli na bandovem prihajajočem albumu Freiweitn, ki bo izšel 28. julija pri založbi Eisenwald Records.

Zasedbo boste lahko letos v živo ujeli na festivalu Kaltenbach Open Air.

Pomlad bo v znamenju ogrevanja za poletni festival Tolminator, saj so Dirty Skunks objavili kar 6 warm-up koncertov na različnih koncih Slovenije. Poljski velikani ekstremnega metala Behemoth so objavili live posnetek za komad Evoe. Skladbo je band posnel lansko leto na festivalu Bloodstock Open Air Metal Festival.

In ne pozabimo, da bo zasedba obiskala 6. junija Ljubljano v družbi Meshuggah.

Po tem, ko so svoj nastop na letošnji ediciji festivala Kaltenbach Open Air odpovedali Abrupt Demise, so hitro vskočili barbarski thrash metalci Tulsadoom. Festival se bo odvijal med 18. in 20. avgustom v kraju Spital am Semmering.

Nova potrditev za festival Črna Loka, ki se bo 7. in 8. julija odvijal v Škofji Loki, so domači progresivni death metalci Morost.

Ugodnejše (early bird) festivalske vstopnice za Črno Loko 2023 so na voljo le še do konca meseca.

Organizatorji festivala Črna Loka so v nedeljo razveselili z vestjo, da bodo na letošnji izvedbi festivala nastopili death metalci Siderean, ki so lani morali odpovedati nastop zaradi bolezni.

Črna Loka se bo letos odvijala od 7. in 8. julija v Škofji Loki, doslej potrjene skupine pa so 1914, Psychonaut 4, Cvinger, Ulvedharr, Britof in Kamra. Vstopnice so letos v predprodaji na voljo prek založbe On Parole in znašajo 42 EUR.

Valižani Lichway so odpovedali nastop na letošnjem festivalu Kaltenbach Open Air 2023. Organizatorji so že našli zamenjavo – namesto Lichway bodo nastopili Avstrijci Varulv. Več informacij o samem festivalu najdete tukaj.

Gruzijski black metalci Psychonaut 4 so drugi headliner škofjeloškega festivala Črna Loka 2023, ki se bo odvijal 7. in 8. julija. Poleg njih so napovedani še ukrajinski 1914.

Avstrijski manijaki Insanity Alert, ki naslednje leto prihajajo v Tolmin na Tolminator Metal Fest 2023, so objavili live video za pesem Run to the Pit, ki je bil posnet med njihovih letošnjim nastopom na festivalu Wacken Open Air. Komad je del bandovega drugega albuma Moshburger (2016), ki je bil ponovno izdan minuli petek pri Season of Mist.
